0-60MPH AFTER GEARBOX REMAP - AUDI A5 3.0 TDI QUATTRO PROJECT
In Part 10 of our A5 vlog we perform our own custom Gearbox tune while measuring before and after 0-60mph times using our Racelogic Performance Box to see what difference this makes in the real world. The V-Box showed 4.74s on stock gearbox software and after some magic we managed 4.42s to 60mph with our custom tuned gearbox software. With some fine tuning we would expect to drop below the 4s mark and into serious supercar territory.
We were utilising our DL501 Stage 2 software at this power level. As we increase the power and torque, we will be looking to change this to the Stage 2 Software. More information on our Gearbox tuning can be found here:
Sometimes its hard to appreciate a 0-60mph / 0-120mph video without a comparison against something else. We put our 340bhp Audi A5 3.0 TDI Project head to head against a Mercedes C63 AMG in a virtual drag race.
The main improvement came from the increased Launch RPM and a slight improvement came from the quicker shift times. Driving normally is much improved, the main noticeable difference is the lag when approaching junctions which we have managed to fix.
As it stands we now have made a 1.61s improvement to 60mph and a massive 5.75 seconds quicker to 100mph compared to the standard figures we measured. We will also be hitting Santa Pod drag strip later in the year to do some real racing!
