6 Groove Clutched Alternator Pulley for 2.0 TDI CR Engines
This Alternator Pulley has a clutch system to allow the Alternator to continue to spin as the engine slows. When these fail, it can cause the Auxiliary Tensioner to become noisy and fail. There may also be a nasty grinding or squealing noise coming from the Pulley itself
It's very common for garages to change the Auxiliary Tensioner and it soon fail. Usually it is because this pulley is stuck and causes excessive wear on the tensioner
Please Note - Ensure you Count the Number of Grooves in your Pulley and order the correct part, we have both the 6 Groove and 5 Groove Pulleys. This listing is for the 6 Groove Pulley. We will not refund any costs incurred if you order the wrong part
To remove the Pulley on the VAG Alternators you require a 33 Spline Removal Tool. These can be purchased for around £10 from eBay
