SQS Sequential Shifter Unit for 02A/02J/02C/02R/02T - 02M/02Q Gearboxes
The Sequential Shifter is revolutionary patented design that converts the standard H pattern shifting, to a fully sequential shifting mechanism. It is an external attachment for your gearbox, which means there is no gearbox intervention
Although designed for synchro gearboxes, this kit can also be used with dog boxes for additional comfort, safety and shifting accuracy
When mounted on a dog box it is necessary check and measure the bowden strokes. Various manufacturers produce kits with different strokes to the original VW specifications (Please check with the box manufacturer for compatibility before purchasing)
Installing the SSS will enable you to:
- Change gears without lateral movement
- Change gears fast, smooth and accurately
- View selected gear on the Digital Indicator
The smooth transmission will enable you to change gears quicker as the distance for shifting is minimised, thereby gaining vital time over the course of a stage/lap
This kit will fit all VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda Models fitted with the 02A/02J/02C/02R/02T and 02M/02Q Gearboxes
On some models the gearbox tunnel will need to be re-drilled for installation
SHIFT CUT / POWER SHIFT / FLAT SHIFT
(Shifting without clutch or under full throttle)
This is generally possible with all dog boxes (when releasing the throttle by shifting) with SEQUENTIAL shifting because it is easy get a signal for ignition cut
SQS shifters are equipped on the tower with a Shift Cut Switch to give this signal to the ECU (see gallery)
A more sophisticated solution is use a Strain Gauge, or we can supply an SQS Shift Cut Knob (SCK) for £210 + VAT. The SCK gives a signal as soon as the lever moves
